When He speaks

“Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry. So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed.
They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.” – Isaiah 55:10-11 (MSG)

When He speaks, something changes. There’s an action. "Let there be light... and there was light...". Timothy Keller, in the book "Prayer," says, 'God’s words are identical with His actions.' When He speaks, a seed of change or action is planted in us.

Something becomes different.

When God changed Abraham’s name, even though what He promised didn’t happen right at that moment, their ability to have kids, especially at such an old age, changed. There was faith, there was movement in their lives. A seed of faith was now active, and they changed their whole lives based on a word that their eyes couldn’t see just yet, but it was already active...moving.

God’s word is never wasted. No matter what He speaks into our lives when He does, a movement begins. It doesn’t wait to happen to start to move and transform.

The Scripture is such a powerful book. When we understand that as we read it, God has already spoken those words, we realize they already exist in our lives, and they are active in our present reality. We should approach it with faith!

I don’t know what God has spoken into your life, but if it came from Him, the seed has been planted.

The word is already in action. Therefore, live your life by faith.

Embrace everything He has already said. Get to know the Truth He has already spoken in the Scripture, and love His Word, because it will fulfil the assignment He gave to it.

For you:

The Word of God is timeless and powerful. I want to encourage you to read the promises God has spoken to you in His Word. Open those Scriptures that He has used to speak life and read it out, word by word. Be aware of each one of them and let His Holy Spirit bring life to them into your heart.
