Prayer

“Devote yourselves to prayer.” - Colossians 4:2

Prayer is one of the most beautiful aspects of our relationship with our Father. It's the voice of our heart and soul connecting with the One who speaks directly to them.

It's like a strong communication with the One who knows every single detail of our lives but still desires to listen to us, word by word as if hearing it for the first time. It showcases His patience, kindness, and care, listening to the same things repeatedly, even when what we ask for may not be the best for us.

As we pray, an inaudible voice speaks from our hearts, yet He attentively listens to each word as if we were saying them aloud.

His ears perceive the quietest voice of our souls, the most silent but also the loudest, a voice full of honesty and devotion.

He isn't seeking performance in our prayers or words that would make them more convincing. His heart moves for truth.

Through our prayers, our hearts are prompted to reflect on our nature and reveal in us a need for His presence that only that moment of deep connection can satisfy.

Jesus’ death and resurrection made our prayers possible. It cost God everything to make them accessible to us, ordinary people.

It’s a privilege to approach the Father with such freedom.

Prayer is a gift given to us through the freedom that Jesus conquered for us on the cross.

Let your heart speak to His.

For you:

I know how challenging it is to prioritise prayers in our busy lives. However, I want to encourage to “book” your time with God. If you struggle to find the time, you might need to sit down with your diary and organise it. Schedule your time with Him, and during that time, put your phone away, tell the person you live with that you will have some quiet time. Prepare the room. He is worthy of it.
